Muscatine, Iowa native, Alexis Huscko, has battled with PTSD for the last 13 years. In her effort to find peace after the birth of her children, she sought out therapy where she discovered the profound results of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and with that an outlet for her trauma in painting. What started as a way to convey preverbal thoughts turned into a complete story. This exhibit, Free Will, presents a personal journey of pain and heartache, as well as retribution, rebuilding, and flourishing.
Trigger Warning: this art exhibit contains raw, graphic images depicting violent suicides.
